Gateway Plus Exchange Server 2007 UM Server Role

For those customers who want to implement a gateway and desire assistance in deploying the UM role of Exchange 2007, Enabling Technologies will provide the gateway work described above, and deploy and customize UM server role. This installation work includes:

 

·         All of the tasks outlined in the Gateway Only offer plus....

·         Analyze and advise on hardware requirements for the UM role

·         Discuss storage considerations

·         Review client considerations on security, permissions, delegating roles, and the rights that are required to administer Exchange Server 2007

·         Configuration, deployment, and  testing services

·         Install and/or optimize the UM server role

·         UM Policies implementation, integration, and activation (conceptually similar to traditional voicemail Classes of Service (COS))

·         Auto attendant configuration and activation

·         Knowledge Transfer about UM administration through the Exchange Management Console and the Exchange Management Shell to administer and configure specific settings or enable bulk changes

·         Configure Exchange UM System Objects (UM Dial Plan, IP Gateway, Hunt Group, UM Server, UM Mailbox Policy, UM Auto-Attendant)

·         Configure load-balancing across multiple VOIP gateways if desired

 

3. Message Waiting Indicator (For Exchange Server 2007 Unified Mesaging Only)

Many users desire a message waiting indicator (MWI) to light lamps on telephones when voice mail messages are left for them. MWI is currently not provided in Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 UM. For these customers, Enabling Technologies will implement an MWI software solution. Although such a solution can run co-resident on an Exchange 2007 server, Enabling Technologies recommends that the customer install a separate MWI server.

 

If the customer purchases an MWI solution and implementation services, they also purchase the licensing for the MWI software directly from Enabling Technologies.

 

During MWI implementation, Enabling Technologies will:

 

  • Discuss server hardware requirements to host MWI2007 software
  • Come to the customer’s site for initial setup, customization, and testing
  • Provide installation, configuration of message waiting, and software documentation
  • Perform administrative training so the customer is familiar with basic troubleshooting techniques
  • Provide login and password information for the MWI2007 software
  • Provide knowledge transfer on how to conduct day-to-day operation of the solution
  • Test the solution for an initial set of test users

Customer Responsibilities

Prior to this implementation service, the customer should have:

 

  • Completed all Exchange 2007 and UM work
  • Procured an adequate server to meet the minimum requirements, or planned to host the MWI service on an Exchange server role
